What is StarMUD?
A galaxy built from words
StarMUD is a classic MUD — a text-based multiplayer world inspired by the great DIKU/SMAUG
codebases. No graphics, no hand-holding. Just you, your imagination, and the universe.

Play with friends in real time. Chat, fight together, explore — or betray each other.

6 Races & 6 Classes
Choose from Human, Android, Keth'ari, Synthborn, Void-Touched, or Zelvari. Pair with Soldier, Engineer, Pilot, Medic, Scoundrel, or Psionic.

Stats & Progression
Roll your character stats at creation. Gain HP and energy each level. Earn bonus stat points through luck and visit trainers to spend them.

29 Abilities
Psionic, Tech, Combat, Medtech, and Rogue ability trees. Unlock new powers by visiting trainers across the galaxy.

Random Loot
Enemies carry flux-charged items with hidden stat bonuses. Use the Appraise skill to reveal their properties — or engrave them for all to see.

Buy and upgrade your own vessel. Warp between star systems — but watch out for pirates in the void.
